Westminster Abbey Statues

During the cleaning and restoration of the Western Towers of Westminster Abbey the architect and surveyor of the fabric, Donald Butress, was keen to add something new to the facade.

Queen Mother Memorial, The Mall, London

At her death in 2002, the Queen Mother was pre-deceased by her husband George VI by 50 years. The decision was made to create a memorial to her by remodelling and enlarging the pre-existing monument to George VI.
