Portfolio: Traditional Ornamental Design

The skill that differentiates the carver from the mason is that of drawing and design. Whilst the mason works from templates, the carver’s technique is founded upon drawing. It is also of course a prerequisite for design; an essential tool for working out and expressing ideas later to be realized in a three dimensional form.
